Purdue Computer Science Building

In 2004, the Department of Computer Sciences was spread out across the campus of Purdue University into 5 separate buildings.  The University decided to construct a new Computer Science Facility that consolidated the five buildings into two.   The new facility provides 170 offices, four classrooms, five instructional labs, and four research labs for faculty, assistants, and students to collaborate and share ideas.  In addition to the meeting rooms, classrooms, and research labs, the facility includes the 100-seat University Meeting Room, a lecture hall designated for special events, and the adjacent commons area that offers a registration area. There are also a variety of interaction areas, a deli style café and an espresso bar.  The $20 million Purdue Computer Science Building opened in the fall of 2006 and it has become an integral part of educating tomorrow’s computer experts.

The 100,000 square-foot Computer Science Building was one of our first major projects.  First Electric provided the lighting package on this project.  ESL Spectrum was the lighting representative that provided us with Columbia light fixtures.  Gaylor Electric was the contractor that was awarded the Purdue Computer Science Building project.
